We are recruiting volunteers help to able to answer
the volume of neuroscientific questions we have
been receiving. The questions are predominantly
from elementary and high school-aged children and
are most often about very basic concepts and facts
about nervous system structure and function.
As
explained in the Guide
Book, and at the top of the questionnaire,
Brains Rule! is funded through a training grant
mechanisim- which means that evidence-based outcomes
are critical to demonstrating the effectiveness
of the methods employed by our project. So gathering
some initial information from you is important to
our overall evaluation plan. All the information
remains anonymous with no identifiers.
The
Guide Book hopefully contains everything you know
to get started. When you have completed a survey,
and read through the Guide Book - and if all your
questions about the Project and the process have
been answered- then you can let me know and I will
begin to send you questions.
You
can choose how many questions you would like to
answer each week and vacations/breaks/exam weeks/grant
deadlines/meetings are not a problem- just let me
know you want to be off for awhile.
When
you sign-up PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR T-SHIRT SIZE (Adult
M, L, XL, or XXL) and we will send you one of our
Brains Rule! shirts as our way of saying thank-you.
Depending on how many questions you answer per month,
you can also earn other great Brains Rule! stuff
like splat brains and lunchbags (more on that later).
Again,
if you have any questions, please feel free to contact
me via e-mail or phone. We are looking forward to
your participation and we are sure you will have
fun!
Thanks,
Andrea Zardetto-Smith, Ph.D.
